The specimens are prepared with open wings, with location and date of collection tags. Many come from areas of integral natural reserve and derive from quantitative university scientific studies carried out with permits in Italian Natural and Regional Parks.
During the research in many finds, the internal copulatory organs were also studied to achieve specific determinations, in particular through the treatment with NaOH; the 28 histological preparations were preserved in euparal on a slide or in special tubes placed under the pin of the specimens studied.
