Siro-ittita Terracotta figura a due teste, 23 x 7,5 cm

Siro-ittita Terracotta figura a due teste, 23 x 7,5 cm
Circa 1800 BC

This figure is a representation of a two-headed personage, whose face is characterised by a beak-shaped nose that gives it a bird-like appearance, a typical characteristic of Syro-Hittite figures. The figures have a headdress on each head and their necks are decorated with a necklace, also individually made. They have a flat, unadorned torso with broad shoulders, and the arms are arranged symmetrically on either side of the body, bent and with their hands resting on ungendered breasts.

*Repaired / damaged nose
