The recent studies in the 21st century in the Iberian Peninsula have provided invaluable information, confirming an occupation long before the previously accepted chronology.
In As Neves, Pontevedra province and in other very close locations, a large and varied number of tools have been found in technical mode 1 and technical mode 2. of such interest that they place these deposits among the most important on the continent, along with Atapuerca and Dmanisi in Georgia.
Thanks to the excavations of recent years, the presence, highly probable, along the Miño River, of three species: Homo Antecesor, Homo Hábilis and Homo Ergaster from Africa through perhaps the Strait of Gibraltar.
Provenance: Found in As Neves in Pontevedra (Spain) in 1978 by my father, the archaeologist and writer Pedro Días Álvarez.
