An old poster designed by Atelier Populaire at the Fine Arts School during the demonstrations in France in May 1968.
Sheet size: 49 x 32 cm.
This poster is more famous than the slogan it illustrates and is almost inseparable from it.
The parataxis (placing two clauses one after another without any link-works, with a mere comma) is indicated by the shape of a tank with its cannon pointed to the left (whould it be a political allusion?). The image also breaks the semantic balance of social unease and military authority by representing, as Pascal once did, the overwhelming supremacy of force.
