this auction is for a Platinum Award for the success of George Michael's Faith Tour in 1988. Originally awarded to Mark Shimmel (former COO of Epic
Records).
In the 1980s In-House/ Label Awards such as these were given not only to the artist but also to the staff and sometimes the crew.
The award has a black (wood) frame and acrylic glass, plus a 12" platinum faith album, a signed blank CD and a plaque. On the back (cardboard)
has the original hook and sticker of the known award making company:
Fitzgerald Hartley Marketing.
The item measures 53 centimetres × 43 centimetres (20.86 x 16.92 inches).
This is a real award given to a music industry professional and NOT a selfmade
"homemade 'something'. It has been in my collection for almost a decade.
