First edition in French, decorated with 3 copper plates drawn and engraved by F. Anderloni, representing the lacrimal passages, certain eye diseases and oculist surgeon's instruments.
Translated and annotated by J.B.F. Léveillé, who followed the author's surgery lessons at the University of Pavia. Scarpa (1747-1832) was a surgeon who was a pupil of Morgagni. This work, influenced by the work of its master, appeared for the first time in Italian, in 1801. It knew 5 editions until 1821 and was translated into French, German and English
