Léveillé, who followed the author's surgery lessons at the University of Pavia. Scarpa (1747-1832) was a surgeon who was a pupil of Morgagni. This work, influenced by the work of its master, appeared for the first time in Italian, in 1801. It knew 5 editions until 1821 and was translated into French, German and English Engraved bookplate of Desjardins, artist of the faculty of medicine of Paris, brought back and stuck on the first plate of volume I.
