Epoca vichinga Bronzo Bellissimo amuleto stregone con 3 zampe d'anatra - 62×40×0 mm
This is a beautiful Viking sourcerer amulet with 3 duck feet. Seven pieces comprising a lateral bar with integral shackles suspending three intermediate loops with stylized duck’s feet. A burial at Viden, Denmark contained the body of a woman of wealth and status buried with henbane seeds, which have hallucinogenic properties, and a wand as well as other objects. From these, archeologists concluded that she was a seeress or sorceress. (Among Vikings, only women were sorcerers.) The grave contained a necklace hung with three duck feet pendants very similar to this.
This artifact measures 62 x 40 mm. It is dated 10th to 11th century AD.
You can actually wear this remarquable piece of jewelry. A modern necklace is included.
