See our other lots in this auction for Thalys basic set with drive and the other expansion set for a complete 10-piece train set The TGV Thalys PBKA is a type of high-speed train from the TGV family that has been used since 1996 on the Thalys network lines between Paris, Brussels, Cologne and Amsterdam (PBKA). Technically, the carriages are almost identical to the PBA units. The PBKA carriages have the security systems for the German rail network and, unlike the PBA carriages, are suitable for driving under 15kV 16.7 Hz overhead line voltage, enabling them to serve on the Paris-Cologne route. The appearance of the two types differ from each other because the PBA carriages have an old head, and the PBKA couples have a new head. Train units PBA and PBKA can be linked together.
