Rare antique Suzuribako硯箱 (writing box) with five compartments and one lid, every compartment fitted with one inkstone and one copper water dropper, every water dropper was in different shape, very creative. The rims for every compartment has been painted with silver powder, ornate and beautiful.
The top side and the four sides was designed with multicolored Akikusa秋草 patterns by maki-e technique, very impressive and vivid.
Sold with tomobako.
Dimensions: 20 x 11 x 11.5cm
Good condition, there are signs of wear from age and normal use, marks, scratches, rubbing; please also take a look at the listed photos for a reference.
