
Vaso (1) - Bronzo - 山形鋳物 Yamagata Casting - Giappone - Periodo Shōwa (1926-1989)
Lovely bronze okimono 置物 by Yoshida Eiji 吉田叡示 (1911-1987) of a naturalistically modelled horse 馬 (uma) finished with a rusty brown patina. Placed on an rectangular base.
With a carved signature on the underside ‘Eiji’ 叡示.
Yoshida Eiji, born in Osaka in 1907 (Meiji 44), received his artistic education under the guidance of the renowned Seibo Kitamura 北村西望 and further honed his skills at the Tokyo School of Fine Arts 東京美術学校. His talent earned him recognition, and he was selected to showcase his work at prestigious exhibitions such as Teiten 帝展 and Bunten 文展. Additionally, Yoshida Eiji was a valued member of Nitten 日展会and even held the esteemed position of Chairman of the Bronze Society 青銅会.
It is in a very good original condition. Please see the photos as reference to its condition.
Including original wooden tomobako 供箱 (storage box) with inscription and signature in black ink.
