Fine Antique Suruzibako designed with auspicious and beautiful cranes, pine tree, plum blossom and bamboo patterns executed in gold taka maki-e 高蒔絵 (high-relief lacquer design), very vivid and beautiful.
The reverse of the lid decorated with vivid pine tree and other plants growing from the ground, and there are a pair of flying birds above them, all executed in gold maki-e 蒔絵.
The box with three fitted trays and the middle one housing an inkstone 硯 (suzuri) and a high-quality water dropper 水滴 (suiteki) in a turtle shape.
