The Tractatus de virtutibus herbarum (Vicenza, 1491) is considered the first Latin herbal printed in the Veneto region, a milestone in the history of medicine and pharmacology. It draws on Galen, Pliny, Mesue, Avicenna and Averroes. This prestigious facsimile was produced by Edizioni Valdonega, Verona, in a single limited print run of 750 numbered copies. It faithfully reproduces a rare coloured original kept in a Venetian private collection, with direct comparison to the exemplars at the Museo Correr (Venice) and the British Library (London).
