A fine example of traditional Crusted Port, bottled in 1985 by Matthew Gloag & Son, the historic Perth-based wine and spirits merchant best known for The Famous Grouse Scotch whisky. This release represents a period when Gloag maintained a small but respected port business, importing quality wines from Portugal and bottling them in the UK. Crusted Port, a blend of several vintages bottled unfiltered to encourage natural sediment and further bottle maturation, delivers an experience close to vintage port in style and structure. Now fully mature, this bottle stands as an elegant reminder of the merchant tradition that once linked Scotch whisky houses with fine fortified wines.
