Giappone. Meiji (1868-1912). 2 Bu Ban Kin Rare Reverse minting
This is an antique Japanese coin minted during the Meiji era. It features a distinctive rectangular shape, with the characters for ‘two mon’ and a ginkgo crest engraved on the obverse.
Typically, coins are minted with the obverse and reverse oriented the same way,
but this coin was minted upside down.
This phenomenon, known as reverse minting, makes it an extremely rare coin.
For collectors who appreciate the charm of antique coins, this is an exceptional specimen.

These Ni Bu Ban Kin are historical Japanese coinage from the late Edo/early Meiji period. Their value is based on rarity, age, and numismatic significance—not on bullion content. These pieces were traditionally struck in a gold–silver alloy, and they are collected for their historical importance rather than precious-metal purity.
