Limited edition of this reproduction of this book about carnival costumes in Nuremberg from ca. 1449-1539. Limited to 500 copies, this being No. 195. Comes with a frontispiece engraving and 97 hand-coloured illustrations on 78 plates, many of them spreads. Minimal rubbing, bumping, and wear to the boards and spine. Pencil markings in the front and back flyleaves. The first pages, including the frontispiece have a crease in the bottom corner. Very little browning and spotting throughout. The text is clear, the illustrations are vibrant and in excellent condition, and the binding is solid. Overall, a handsome copy in very good condition.
