Book illuminated by Evelyn Paul,boards deliberately produced to resemble a medieval manuscript. The leather cover boards have a deeply embossed totale and motif. The spine Is Riveted on. The top of the text block Is gilt, the other edges are left rough and untrimmed. The whole effect Is of a precious ancient manuscript. Many illustrations,in colour and black and White. Inside very clean and complete, beautiful illustrated endpapers. Externally light wear on spine and corners of leather, light wear on spine-see photos as part of description. I see no other copies selling worlwide in this special binding!!! Uncommon. Rarity.
