Orologio Atmos - Jaeger-LeCoultre - Legno - 1930-1940 - Reutter | Modello: A3
Rare Reutter ATMOS “Modèle A3” – Circa 1933–1935
A piece of horological history, fully serviced and running perfectly.
We are proud to offer a genuine Reutter Atmos clock, often referred to as the “Atmos 0” – the very first generation of these iconic perpetual motion clocks. This example is the Modèle A3, manufactured between 1933 and 1935, and features a veneered wooden case with speckled aging, mounted on its original nickel-plated base.
This is not just a clock – it is an early milestone of technical ingenuity. Invented by Jean-Léon Reutter, the Atmos 0 predates Jaeger-LeCoultre’s takeover and embodies the very roots of a concept that would become legendary: a clock powered purely by air and temperature changes.
The rectangular dial is beautifully aged, with original Arabic numerals in a flowing, avant-garde Art Deco style – still clear and elegant after 90 years. It is signed ATMOS - Pendule Perpétuelle and bears the name Reutter along with Made in France, confirming its authentic early production.
Despite its age, the clock is in technically perfect condition:
It has been fully serviced, carefully cleaned inside and out, and now runs with precision.
This is a rare opportunity to acquire a museum-worthy Atmos 0 – a true collector’s item that seldom appears in such well-preserved and complete condition. An heirloom-worthy timepiece for those who appreciate early horological innovation and timeless design.
