This wonderful Buren Intra Matic Swiss automatic 1320Cal, dating from the late 1950s/early 1960s, was the first microrotor watch. Steel Case, Fully Original The crown and buckle are original. The strap is original. The case diameter is 34 mm excluding the crown. The case diameter is 36 mm including the crown. Watch: Bracelet size 20 cm Mechanical automatic Buren cal. 1320 A wonderful vintage piece from Universal Geneve with a history of the microrotor movement: Buren patented the first microrotor automatic watch movement (the Intra-matic) in 1954. They later licensed this technology to companies such as Bulova and Hamilton. Universal Geneve filed for a patent in May 1955. The microrotor movement in the Polerouter series was almost identical in design to the Buren Intramatic. The neighbors won the patent infringement lawsuit, and U.G. was forced to pay Buren royalties for every microrotor they used until their patent was approved. UG was forced to label their watches "patent pending" at that early stage, and as a result of the dispute, they did not receive the actual patent until May 15, 1958.
