Rare Empire-period cabaret for vinegar and olive oil, entirely crafted in 950/1000 sterling silver by Ambroise Mignerot, master silversmith in Paris between 1810 and 1818.
This elegant piece rests on four silver feet and is richly pierced and engraved with mythical birds, garlands, and neoclassical motifs.
The set retains its two matching decanters with silver mounts.
Hallmarks and Identification
Rooster in octagon with numeral 1 – Paris standard mark for 950 silver (used 1809–1819).
Male head in oval with numbers 85 – French guarantee mark for Paris (used 1809–1819).
Rooster with “1” – Repeated on components to confirm purity.
Maker’s mark “A M” under a star – Ambroise Mignerot, active 1810–1818, Paris.
Together, these confirm an authentic First Empire French silver object of the highest grade.
