Mid-19th-Century Pewter Teapot — Continental, c.1850–1870
Description
Elegant antique pewter teapot with richly pressed decoration and a sculpted acorn and oak-leaf lid finial. The body shows alternating fluted panels with beaded ribs and floral/diamond motifs; the lid has a fine beaded rim. Curved handle with a heat-insulating white ring (bone/porcelain). Block-type pinned hinge in good working order. Hand-incised mark “B+” to the underside (workshop/journeyman mark).
A characteristic Rococo/Second-Empire design typical of continental pewter from the mid-19th century.
