VINIFICATION Since we farm our vineyards in a natural way at Niepoort, this climatic variability has a great impact on the final profile of our wines, which means that the 2022 vintage is one to remember. At Quinta de Nápoles, harvesting began on 4 August with the earlier-maturing grape varieties. On 12 August we began harvesting our white grapes. Forgoing any special sorting process, 100% whole bunches were transferred into stainless steel lagares equipped with mechanised stomping devices, where they macerated for a short period of time. Lastly the wine went through malolactic fermentation in old wooden barrels where it also matured for approximately 22 months. TASTING NOTES The Redoma Tinto 2022 is a Niepoort classic which reflects the elegance, structure, and acidity that only a region as diverse as the Douro Valley can express. The colour is ruby-red. concentrated with violet hues. The nose is delicate and complex. It starts off with floral, cherry and ruibarb notes to after swirling reveal hints of tobacco, graphite and spices. On the palate it is structured, round and precise. The balanced acidity promises longevity and the finish is long and piquant. SERVING Pair with spicy dishes, pepper steak, red meat, venison. Vegetarian options: spicy dishes featuring mushrooms, for example.. Store in a cool and dry place, sheltered from light and temperature fluctuations. Keep the bottle in a horizontal position.
