This is a beautiful Kawara-yaki (香春焼) serving bowl handcrafted by the Japanese ceramic artist Saburō Shiroyama (城山三郎).
Kawara-yaki is a traditional pottery style from Kawara Town in Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan. It has a history dating back to the Edo period (1603–1868) and is known for its calm, natural glazes and refined craftsmanship.
The pottery often reflects the quiet beauty of nature, expressing Japan’s sense of “wabi-sabi.”
This piece features a graceful blend of green and gray glaze, creating a serene and natural appearance. Each work is carefully handmade and fired with great attention to detail.
