Beautiful set of two traditional Hungarian black ceramic jugs, handmade in the folk art tradition.
Both pieces are wheel-thrown, smoke-fired and finished with a deep matte black natural glaze, typical of the region.
Each jug bears the Monacs stamp on the base.
Dimensions:
Jug 1 (larger): Height 30 cm – Width 20 cm
Jug 2 (smaller): Height 25 cm – Width 15 cm
Condition:
Very good vintage condition with minimal signs of age and use. No cracks, no restorations.
Light surface marks consistent with age.
Origin: Hungary
Period: mid 20th century
Technique: traditional pottery / smoke-fired ceramic
Stamped: Monacs (under base)
