We get daily Antique French linen arriving and every item has to
be checked and scrutinised for faults such as holes, tears, darning,
rust stains etc.etc.
Large quantities have to be abandoned, due to serious wear and tear.
We are then left with " siblings" and these have to be sorted into two categories.
Those who have medium quality in damask design , the way the initials are
choreographed and general appearance.
Most of them fall into this category.
And then we have napkins which stand out significantly from others with
superb damask design, beautiful initials and generally having a superior appearance.
And these are the 6 napkins which fall into thIs category.
Look particularly at the 1st photo and the following with a hunting family of buck, fawn and doe.
See how one of the off spring is being fed. Unfortunately these was only one of these napkins left and the entire set had to be abandoned.
All of the 6 napkins have slight different dimensions.
