"Spring brought abundant rainfall and below-average temperatures, followed by a hot summer. During flowering in June, rain and wind produced fewer clusters, but the summer was warm and sunny, resulting in optimal ripening. Luce reported "exceptional fruit quality." Yields of 30 hl/ha, 24 months in barriques, 90% of which were new. Fine spices and sweet, moist soil overlap with more intense black fruit, with a breadth and sweetness to spare, intense coffee and sweet black fruit, a more direct yet delicious style." Tom Cannavan
