Fascinating uniface cast bronze medal depicting an allegorical scene of two female figures making offerings to a small Cupid standing on an altar with burning flames — a classic Neoclassical subject symbolizing The Sacrifice to Love.
Attributed to Augustin Dupré (1748–1833), renowned French engraver and medallist, later appointed Chief Engraver of the Paris Mint under the French Revolution.

Obverse: Allegorical scene of women at an altar with Cupid and flames.
Reverse: Plain and unfinished (uniface casting), with traces of patina and handwritten “1789”.
Material: Cast bronze
Diameter: approx. 45 mm
Condition: Very fine; attractive dark patina, detailed relief, minor casting irregularities typical of uniface proofs.
Provenance: Old European collection (labelled “Médaille 1789 – fonte uniface – Dupré”).
