ケーララ州に広がるIrruttukuthi船の前部と後部に設置された木製の船首。下部には燕尾型の継ぎ手があり、それが船体の残りの部分から取り外すことを可能にしていた。前部には痕跡とへこみがあり、船体の中でも最も露出している部分の一つである。

La parte inferiore presenta un incastro a coda di rondine che ne consentiva la rimozione dal resto dell’imbarcazione. La parte frontale presenta segni ed ammaccature, essendo una delle zone più esposta dell’imbarcazione.
