The Faschinenmesser is the predecessor of the German bayonets with wooden grip. This is the 1849 design that was standard used by the Prussian army. Solid, without slack. The blade is completely manufactured in copper and shows some locally discolouration and pitting by old age. The dagger is marked 1. M. 49. II. 32 and has Prussian quality marks.
