Rare pioneers sword with saw edge - England - Model 1856.

Rare pioneers sword with saw edge - England - Model 1856.
In good condition

The short, heavy blade has about 2/3 of its length a saw edge
The pioneers could also do saw work with it.
The brass hilt consists of a ribbed grip with short hilt.
On the blade and the hilt there are some (unreadable) inspection stamps and numbers.
On the ricasso of the blade is the name of the maker Wilkinson London.
The sheath is leather and has two brass frames.
The leather of the sheath is restored and again blackened and is therefore hard and brittle.
By shrink goes the blade heavy in the sheath.

With its still razor-sharp saw is this an impressive weapon.

The length is 72 cm.
The condition of the sword is good (the blade has light pitting and a dark patina).
Please see the pictures for a good impression.
