A dueling epee, most likely French second half 19th century, the sword is adorned with bell-guard, octagonal pommel, wire wrapped around for better handling, the blade having a triangular shape. Sword comes with a sheath, end piece of the sheath is missing, see photos. Makers inscription is visible on the blade, however somewhat illegible, possible reading Couleaux & Cie which was a sword-making family business operating between 1801 - 1962, producing military weapons and fencing swords. Item measures 105cm in length.
Condition: Generally good, abrasions to the blade.
