Second half 20th century - Russian - 24 carat gold-plated finish - in very good condition.

Nicolaas and Alexandra married only a few short weeks following his father’s death, and he wanted to give her an exclusive gift for Easter. They were now the tsar and tsarina of Russia, Easter was approaching and his first gift as Tsar had to be spectacular. Fabergé was commissioned by him and so produced his first exceptional royal Fabergé egg, the royal Rosebud Egg.
The egg was originally made in translucent strawberry red glaze on top of a design of the engraved guilloché with a cream velvet lining, in which a golden yellow rosebud containing a surprise, a miniature Fabergé pendant.

The egg is signed FABERGÉ in enamel-plated gold with over 200 rhinestones with a very pure gloss, among which two large ones that are located on the pendant and on top of the egg.
The base is 24 carat gold-plated silver.
