Maserati Merak represents the 70's new super car concept.
Italian track- and sportscar manufacturers (Maserati, Ferrari and Lamborghini) began to design and build a completely new types of sports cars with a mid-engine layout.
In these cars, the engine is placed in the centre of the car, on the front of the rear axle. This achieved the best possible weight distribution. The chassis is generally semi-rigid, either constructed as a tubular frame or as a so-called subframe for the bodywork.
The car manufacturing volumes were very small and aimed at a much more specific buyer. Due to the small quantities of manufactured materials, the special construction and the high quality, they were very expensive to purchase.

In the 70's Maserati Merak competed from customers with Ferrari 308, GT 4 and Lamborghini Urraco. The cars are very similar in terms of structure and performance, as well as their purchase price.

Maserati Merak cars were manufactured between 1972-1983. The total number of Merak 3000 models made were 781.

From what I have been told there were only a hand full produced in this green colour, very rare.

This car's serial number is 352 and it was built in Maserati's factory in Italy in 1973. The car was ordered by car collector Mr. Fayed from Egypt.

In 1980, Mr. Fayed transported the car to London, where he has a permanent collection of luxury cars.

This car is totally original and has never been restored, driven only 17000km.
We have the original wheel that still have the original tires fitted from the 70’s (I will send you some photos).
Included is the original sales brochure with this car displayed, also the original leather samples for the interior.

There are a few marks on the cars body that can be seen in the photos, other than that the car is in superb original condition.

This lot can be viewed and picked up in Valkeakoski, Finland.
