The process of photochromy was invented in the 1880s by Hans Jacob Schmidt (1856-1924). His invention was patented in 1888 by Orel Füssli, who created a subsidiary under the name of Photochrom Zürich (now P.Z. Photoglob Zurich in 1895) The invention is presented at the 1900 Universal Exposition in Paris and received a very enthusiastic reception that opened the doors to success. ...
