The HENNEY Kilowatt, is an American electric vehicle, from 1960, made in the United States based on a Renault R1090, today a collector's item due to its rarity.
This is one of 47 Henney Kilowatt manufactured in USA early 60s, in fact one of the last 8 that came out with double capacity 2x36 = 72 volts, before the closure of the plant, it has 6,800 miles on the meter, French registration and control technique ok.
Initially "she" belonged to an electricity company in the US, (promoting the use of electricity), later a university used it for training, the car was used until 1976, then she was owned by a collector and has not been driven daily anymore.
The apertures in the front and rear hoods, make a visual demonstration that this Henney is a 100% electric vehicle, only 4 or 5 came out with this option.
Brakes redone in 2017, new circuit, with liquid DOT5 (the non-corrosive type).
The tires, are new Michelin "vintage".
Heating "essence" (Webasto type), will need an overhaul in order to be used.
Ideal for the museum interested in electric traction, in a historic perspective.
This vehicle encounters a lot of success in exhibitions next to a modern Electric vehicle, see picture.
The car is in the Mosel district and can be inspected and picked up close to Metz, France.
Please note that this car does run & Drive and does include the charger.
