Antique reliquary of Marguerite Manchini (in Italian: Margherita Manchini). Also called sister Rita of Cascia (in Italian: sorella Rita da Cascia) commonly simplified by Rita.
Saint Rita was born in Umbria in 1381 and died on May 22nd, 1457.
She was beatified in 1628 by Pope Urban VIII and canonized on May 24th, 1900 by Pope Léon XIII.
This reliquary contains 1 cross with an inscription, a pendant with a rose and her portrait on the back and another older cross with inscriptions.
The reliquary is made of silver or silver-plated metal. No hallmark considering its age.
