Specifications Tuner T80
The Sansui T-80 AM / FM stereo tuner can not de-tune because the FM stage has our patented Digitally Quartz-Locked-system.
When you tune to the wished FM station and lock it on this easy-to-use system, nothing can cause it to de-tune. No changes in voltage or fluctuations in the frequency of your AC power, no sudden changes in temperature or humidity in the tuner or in the area. Nothing.
The patented Sansui system in the FM tuning section uses a digital control for the quartz-lock-function. A reference (time base) signal of the quartz crystal is used to count the frequency of the local oscillator (the device which performs the actual alignment). When there are too many or too little digital bits for the count, the difference is converted to a correction voltage, the local oscillator will be told to go back to the station and your station is locked until you move the tuning knob. When you switch the tuner off, a Re-Lock-memory ensures that the station is fully locked again when you turn the device on again - even when you use a preset time clock for recording while you are away.
The big advantage of Sansui is that our system is digital. Others use an analogue phase comparator with quartz. But it can produce radio frequency signals which leak, mingle with the broadcasting frequency you want and that can cause degradation of the tonal quality. Our digital does not.
