This is a hand-knotted Gabbeh carpet, made of durable, natural materials. The way it is knotted and the diversity in patterns make this carpet unique and emphasise its authentic and traditional character.
This Gabbeh was made in India. They were originally made in Iran.
Gabbeh rugs are made by nomads in the south-west of Iran. The large sections with often a few primitive patterns (often animals) are characteristic of these rugs.
A Gabbeh is a thick carpet, made of wool on a cotton warp (bobbin thread), often with a lot of abrash (natural colour variations).
Gabbehs are excellent rugs for daily use with high a durability.

This is a used rug, which has become more beautiful and richer in character due to the natural ageing process.

Main colour: yellow
Accent colours: red/brown, green and blue shades.
Details: nicely clean, full and thick carpet; beautiful shine; a lot of nap; rich abrash (natural colour variations).
