This is a hand-knotted Hamadan rug, made of durable, natural materials. The way it is knotted and the diversity in patterns make this carpet unique and emphasise its authentic and traditional character.
Hamadan is one of the world's oldest cities, located in western Iran. A Hamadan rug can be recognised by the medallion, which often has a geometric shape, in a repeated design. There are also medallions with floral patterns. Hamadan rugs are durable rugs, made of shiny wool.
Hamadan carpets are good for daily use, with a high durability.
This is a used rug, which has become more beautiful and richer in character due to the natural ageing process.
This rug was imported from Iran before 2000.
