Marilyn Monroe - The Complete Last Sitting (English), hardcover edition by Bert Stern (author), Marilyn Monroe (author) - Bert Stern (born 1930), was one of the top American fashion and advertising photographers of the 1960s, he was the last one to get a photo session with Marilyn, it took place just six weeks before her death. The result of this three-day session, which was arranged for the American Vogue and took place in the Bel Air Hotel in Los Angeles in June 1962, were almost 2700 fashion, portrait and nude photographs, of which only about 20 had been published at the time.
However, Bert Stern’s huge treasure of images is not just impressive because of its enormous quantity. Once again, Marilyn proved her legendary talent as a gifted model.
In spite of some serious moments, these photographs repeatedly illustrate Marilyn’s joy of playing with herself in ever changing roles, which makes this oeuvre a unique document of eroticism in photography. Introduction by Bert Stern.
