Description
Bronze sculpture of a female figure after a classic example - marked Achille Collas - France - third quarter of the 19th century
In reasonable condition; has been used as a lamp base

Very beautiful and detailed classical bronze sculpture of a lady after an example from ancient times.
It is marked "Reduction Mechanique A. Collas Brevete". Achille Collas (1795 – 1859) had his idea to reduce famous large sculptures in 1836, but until the mid-19th century nothing really came of it so the sculpture is probably from the 3rd quarter of the 19th century.

It has been used as a lamp base, that is why her hat is missing, see the last picture for information.

High quality finish; beautiful men-inspired by the clothing; toes, face and hair are finished with a lot of detail; beautiful patina.
