This is a bronze sculpture of Maurice Constant (1892-1970), manufactured in France, ca 1920.
It shows a heroic image of a smith standing next to an anvil and pliers, with a hammer next to his body.
Signed on the base and with inscription on the plaque below it "Le travail par M. Constant Mention au Salon".
The sculpture is extremely detailed.
This high-quality bronze is created using the lost-wax casting technique, or 'cire perdue'.
In original condition
The gilding is worn.
