XIV + 212 + 129 tables. f.t. including 11 in colour, original black canvas binding with gold decoration on the front board and gold titles on the spine, ownership stamp and stamp of removal from the American Academy of Rome, in excellent condition with slight foxing stains that do not affect the quality of the book.
This book is still considered the ultimate analysis of Eastern art. It illustrates progress throughout almost 5,000 years with classifications of styles and period, a work that “get at the philosophical backgrounds of Far Eastern art.trace the political and social influences on its development and the religious and other ideological factors that affected its directions”.
