In very good, general condition - 52 cm

France, late 19th century.

The sculpture is of a heavy quality and stand of a metal pedestal. It is made of patinated zamak and has a warm patina.
Please note in particular the way the artist carried out the details.

The sculpture stands on a wooden base with a metal plaque with the text "Bucheron par Gaudez (Hors concours), see also photos.
Furthermore, the sculpture has a foundry stamp (Fabrication française). On the sculpture is the signature A. Gaudez.

19th century French sculptor. Known for his monumental bronze sculptures.
Gaudez studied under the direction of Francois Jouffroy at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts.
