Complete original film cel from the cartoon series of Boes, consisting of a hand-painted background and hand-painted images on 3 transparent cels.
This is not a series production as sometimes seen with film cels, but a unique, complete copy.
In the middle 90s, animators stopped using this labour-intensive method and began to increasingly rely on computer animation.
Boes was created in 1980 by Wil Raymakers and Thijs Wilms and was soon published in a large number of newspapers and magazines.
From 1981, Boes also appeared in album form, first in the Netherlands but then in many countries worldwide.
The international success of Boes led to a Japanese cartoon series in 1987 and 1988. In total, 101 episodes of 10 minutes were made.
