Franco Perrotti - Rude Bravo Design workshop - Chair - Silicon Hills
Italy - 1990-1999 - polyurethane

Rare. Silicone Hills collection. Designer: Franco Perrotti (also known as Rude Bravo), born in 1953 in Abruzzo. Having graduated at the Polytechnic University of Milan, he worked for 9 years at the Centro Progetti Tecno and then launched the Rude Bravo Design workshop in 1997.
His first published piece was this biomorphic chair, created in 1996 and inspired by the female body. (‘Silicone Hills’) between humour and surrealism.
The backrest is stylised in the shape of voluptuous curves of breasts and buttocks.
The base is chrome-plated. The moulded seat is coated in black lacquer and striated with animal and leaf patterns in gold and silver.
My chair was purchased at the Avant Scène gallery in Paris.
First collection of this series ‘animale’, Part 1.
With a small sign of wear (6 × 9 mm), almost invisible to the eye, the silver appears under the gold leaf (photo attached).
Dimensions: 82 cm H × 50 cm W × 65 mm D.
Polyurethane resin, lacquered gold leaf finish.
