Antique ring with rare, large, Saxonian fortification agate weighing approx. 8 ct.
Silver 800, ring size 52 = 16.8 mm, weight 7.9 grams, handmade around 1920/25

The ring is made of 800 silver and marked accordingly.
The ring head is set with an oval agate cabochon with the typical grain of a Saxonian fortification agate in a level setting. It is surrounded by a nielloed edge. It comes from the Saxonian mining pit of St. Ägidien/Saxony/Germany.
The ring band is also corrugated.

Agate 19 x 14.5 mm = 8 ct
Weight: 7.9 grams
Very good, clean condition with shining agate and silver surface.
