The Great Wave off Kanagawa - Japanese woodblock print
Kanagawa oki namiura - Japan

The print is the first and most well-known print by Hokusai and was published sometime between 1829 and 1833 and forms part of the series 36 Views of Mount Fuji. Hokusai, who was 90 years old when he died, made this woodcut aged around 70. The piece is the most well-known Japanese print and belongs to the most famous graphical pieces in the world.

The Hokusai series of Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji was restored by the Tokyo Traditional Woodblock Print Association in the Edo-Tokyo Museum by highly qualified Japanese craftsmen.
