Designer and graphic artist Dirk Huizer was born in 1926 in Rotterdam and studied drawing, painting and interior design at the Art Academy in Rotterdam. Huizer died in 2009 in Rotterdam.
His passion for spatial design, such as architectural elements, can be seen in this work. Huizer had created an unique style with his sleek, graphics, which give the impression of construction elements in a poetic atmosphere. With his remarkable figures and complicated shapes he experimented with visual perception and optical illusions. In his works Huizer always thought that human perception is not reliable and that you never can penetrate to the absolute reality.
During his career, Huizer had several exhibitions, including in the Singer Museum in Laren and the Erasmus University of Rotterdam.
