Presented in March 1989, the R129 Baureihe was certainly the main attraction at the Automobile Salon in Geneva. With the automatically (0.3 sec.) foldable roll(over) bar as a world premier.
The R129 Baureihe is regarded as the last ‘real’ SL, because of its soft-top. The successors had a steel folding top.
This beautiful Mercedes SL500 in the rare colour black with brown interior! Very nice and comes from the first owner. Mr. Ferretti bought this beautiful SL500 new in 1992 and recently, after more than 25 years in his possession, exchanged it for a higher copy. This is not surprising at 90-year-old age (1928)! It was again a Mercedes.
This SL is very well painted with minimal user traces. Ashtray and lighter never used.
Engine starts right away, grabs nicely and drives, brakes and switches very well. Engine compartment well taken care of and not tinkered with. Hardtop is in good condition. Headlining as new. No cracks in dashboard.
Hardtop release does not works. Inquiry shows that this usually is easy to (have) fix(ed).
Real, honest and very well moving SL in the right rare colour scheme.
