Michael Joseph ‘Mike’ Piazza (born 4th September 1968 in Norristown, Pennsylvania) in a former Italian-American baseball player who played as a catcher in Major League Baseball. During his career he played for Los Angeles Dodgers, Florida Marlins, New York Mets, San Diego Padres and Oakland Athletics. On 6th January 2016, he was elected to the Cooperstown Baseball Hall of Fame, receiving 83% of the vote.

Los Angeles Dodgers and Florida Marlins. Edit
After his father asked Lasorda to select Piazza as a favour, he was drafted by the Dodgers in the 62nd round of the 1988 MLB draft. Lasorda asked Piazza to give up his first base position and learn how to catch to improve his chances of reaching the major leagues, and helped him attend a special training camp for catchers in the Dominican Republic. Despite criticism for receiving preferential treatment thanks to Lasorda, Piazza became an excellent hitter, especially for a catcher. His MLB debut came with the Dodgers in the 1992 season. He appeared in 21 games that season. Later, in 1993, he was named National League Rookie of the Year.

In 1996, Piazza hit .336 with 36 home runs and 105 RBIs, finishing second in MVP voting, behind Ken Caminiti.

Piazza's best season with the Dodgers was 1997, when he finished second in voting MVP again. That season he hit .362, with 40 home runs, 124 RBIs and a slugging percentage of .638.

He played six seasons in total for the Dodgers until he was traded to the Florida Marlins on 15 May 1998. Piazza and Todd Zeile went to the Marlins in return for Gary Sheffield, Charles Johnson, Bobby Bonilla, Manuel Barrios, and Jim Eisenreich.

Career highlights

In 1993, he hit 35 home runs, the most by any rookie catcher (the previous record was Matt Nokes' 32 home runs).
He was named the All-Star Game's MVP, in 1996, after he went 3–2 with a double, home run, and two RBIs at Veterans Stadium in Philadelphia.
His 40 homers in 1997 and 1999 are the third-most by a catcher, only behind Todd Hundley (41) and Javi López (43).
His .362 average in 1997 was the highest ever by an NL catcher, tying the MLB record set by Bill Dickey in 1936 playing for the New York Yankees.
His 201 hits in 1997 were the most in major league history by a player used as a catcher in 130 or more games.
He hit the longest home run in Astrodome history, an estimated 480-foot.
He tied a Mets club record in 2000, when he hit his third grand slam of the season.
Piazza, Derek Jeter, and Bernie Williams are the only players in history to hit a World Series home run in both Yankee Stadium and Shea Stadium.
He won a record 10 consecutive Silver Slugger Awards. The award is given annually to the best offensive player at each position.
He was named Rookie of the Year in 1993.
He led the All-Star voting in 1996, 1997, and 2000.
He hit more than 30 home runs in eight consecutive seasons (1995–2002). He has nine career 30-homer seasons.
He hit .300 in nine consecutive seasons (1993–2001).
He hit his 400th career home run on 26th April 2006, off the Arizona Diamondbacks' José Valverde.
He hit a double off of the San Francisco Giants' Matt Cain for his 2,000th career hit on 21st July 2006.

Ik vind dat de verkoper veel te veel verzendkosten heeft gerekend,ik heb 35euro er voor betaald ,terwijl de verzendkosten 16,90 euro waren ,dus dat vind ik niet nodig om meer dan het dubbele te rekene
